Quantity: -8 came about due to my love of glitches and a lack of good glitch resources on the Internet. The site has been in the planning stages since mid-2007, but it was only when I decided to open a fanlisting for game glitches that the idea finally came to fruition.

Choosing a title was hard, but in the end I found one I really liked. Being quite possibly the most buggy game in the history of games, Final Fantasy VI is the kind provider, quantity negative eight being a possible outcome of one of the game's most famous glitches.

In this Youtube video, we see the infamous sketch glitch at work. At 1:41, the characters are shown to have, as a direct result of the glitch, a grand total of -8 dirks in their inventory. Of course, along with many other things that happen when the sketch glitch is triggered, having minus eight of any item is impossible. I liked the idea, and it stuck with me, eventually becoming the site's namesake.
